What a fantastic weekend of competition for Airdrie Harriers athletes. Airdrie had athletes competing from East to West, with 23 Junior athletes travelling through to Livingston on Saturday and 26 Juniors and 4 Seniors competing on Sunday in Kilmarnock. Although there are no medals or trophies distributed at Livingston’s event there were many great results including a 1st place finish for Sophie Frater(U11G) for the second time this season , Darci Burns was 2nd (U15G) and both Jamie Mooney (U13B) and Eilidh Murphy(U17W) finished 3rd in their races. Many of these same athletes were in competition again on a very cold and muddy day at Kilmarnock where both Aimee Anderson and Eilidh Murphy won 2nd place trophies in their respective events. There was a 3rd prize for U11 girls team Sophie Frater, Taylor More & Grace Wilson. Although AH under 17 Girls team of Eilidh Murphy , Lisa Grennan & Daniella Colquhoun finished in 1st place there are no trophies presented in this age group. Fortunately all 3 girls were more than happy to accept sweetie spot prizes as a consolation.
